Manipur Chief Minister Highlights Decade of Progress Under Prime Minister Modi

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh recently praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a decade of transformative leadership. Speaking at a press conference in Imphal, Khemchand credited the Prime Minister for the state's significant advancements in healthcare, education, sports, and infrastructure.

Highlighting the impact of the NDA government, Khemchand noted that Manipur has seen substantial progress under Modi's guidance. The Chief Minister stated, "India has witnessed progress across various sectors during the last 12 years." He also recognized Modi as the longest serving elected Prime Minister in the nation's history.

Key developments highlighted during the event include the establishment of the National Sports University in Manipur and the implementation of the Inner Line Permit system in December 2019. The Chief Minister also pointed to the commissioning of the INS Imphal, a major guided missile destroyer, as a point of pride for the state.

Regional infrastructure remains a primary focus, with the first medical college in a hill district opening in Churachandpur. Furthermore, officials are working toward the 2028 completion of the Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal railway line to improve national connectivity. Construction is also nearing completion on a new integrated terminal at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport.
