Itanagar: Lohit district authorities issued an urgent safety advisory today. The India Meteorological Department warned of severe storms and heavy rain expected to batter the region until July 2, 2026. Officials want people to stay sharp.

The administration told residents, commuters, and travel agencies to watch for danger. Avoid riverbanks and landslide-prone spots. Night travel should be kept to a minimum until the weather breaks. Nobody should enter rivers or nullahs for fun. Keep livestock secured to stop them from drowning.

“Residents have been asked to keep an emergency kit ready and remain alert to official updates,” the administration stated in their June 29 release. Keep your emergency supplies close. The District Emergency Operation Centre and the District Disaster Management Officer are on standby. Call them if things go south.
