Kohima: National secretary of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), S. Richard Humtsoe, is calling for immediate talks to address concerns raised by the Eastern Nagaland Peoples Organization regarding the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority. He emphasized that the Memorandum of Agreement signed on February 5, 2026, serves as a vital step toward fulfilling the long standing aspirations of Eastern Nagaland residents.
Humtsoe stated that the parties involved, including the Nagaland government, the Indian government, and the organization, must prioritize a high level consultative process. He argued that the current issues surrounding legislative, executive, and financial autonomy within the framework should be settled through direct dialogue rather than public confrontation.
The LJP leader noted that the agreement carries significant moral and political weight. He urged the state government to reaffirm its commitment to the plan, while encouraging all stakeholders to pursue their objectives through peaceful, democratic channels. Ultimately, he believes the FNTA should act as a catalyst for inclusive governance and balanced regional development rather than a source of regional division.
