Lions Club Kohima Installs New Leadership Team

Kohima: Lions Club Kohima swore in its new board for the 2026-27 term during a ceremony in the state capital on June 27. Talitemsu Jamir stepped up as president, joined by secretary Max Marius Menuse O and treasurer Kaikho Dawman. Ketoukholie Whuorie and Akhrienuo Kire rounded out the leadership as vice presidents.

District Governor Elect Dr. Neena Dutta oversaw the swearing-in. She pushed the group to focus on the theme of being a crown of service. Her message centered on the idea that quality comes from action rather than titles. She told the group, "The real crown is not made of gold, but of the good deeds we do for humanity."

The event moved quickly. Longtime member Oken Jeet Sandham handed the gavel to Jamir after sharing highlights from his own tenure as president. S.P. Francis chaired the proceedings. Rheituohunuo Whuorie led the flag salute before the group heard the secretary's report. Dr. B. Imli Wapang closed the night with a vote of thanks.
