Imphal: The Kuki-Zo Council has officially withdrawn its social boycott against Kuki-Zo legislators who participated in the formation of the Manipur state government. This decision reverses a policy that had been in place since early February.

In a formal statement issued on May 20, the council explained that the move was made after a review of the current regional situation. The organization noted that the decision reflects the need for all stakeholders to cooperate as ethnic and political tensions continue in the area.

The boycott was initially established on February 5 following a resolution by the council's cabinet. The restrictions targeted lawmakers based on their involvement with the state government during a period of significant political uncertainty. The council revisited the matter during an April 29 meeting, where members ultimately decided to revoke the mandate effective immediately.
