Imphal: The Kuki-Zo Council has officially withdrawn its social boycott of Kuki-Zo MLAs who participated in the formation of the Manipur government. This decision, announced on May 20, brings an immediate end to the measure that had been in place since early February.

The council initially imposed the boycott on February 5 following a cabinet resolution. The move targeted legislators associated with the state government during a period of ongoing ethnic tension and political instability in Manipur.

Council leaders re-evaluated the policy during a meeting on April 29. After deliberating on the current climate, officials determined that it is necessary for all community members to work and stand together. Consequently, the organization canceled the boycott order effective immediately.
