Imphal: The Kuki-Zo Council is demanding answers. Officials claim that Commando Battalion for Resolute Action personnel raided the Kangpokpi district home of Joint Secretary Douminlal Haokip at 2:30 a.m. on July 12. The council states that soldiers failed to produce a search warrant during the operation at Bongphajol village.

Haokip was not home. He was in Churachandpur for a meeting with Kuki Inpi Manipur leadership. Family members inside the house were asleep when the unit moved in. The council reports that the intrusion left women and children inside the home traumatized.

The group slammed the operation as "high-handed" and "deeply disturbing" while accusing the security force of ignoring established legal rules. They argue that authorities must have a warrant to search a private residence. They are now pressing the government for an impartial investigation into the behavior of the troops on the ground.
