Kohima Shopkeepers Ordered to Spruce Up Buildings for Independence Day

Kohima: The Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry ordered all shopkeepers under the Kohima Municipal Council to paint and whitewash their storefronts. This directive comes straight from the District Administration. The clock is ticking. Business owners must finish the work by August 14 to prep the city for the Independence Day celebrations held on August 15.

General Secretary Grace Swu issued the release on behalf of the KCCI. She urged every business member to play their part in the cleanup effort. The Chamber wants the town to look fresh and presentable for the national holiday. KCCI members made a plea for full participation, noting they are "fervently appealed all members of the business community to comply with the direction and complete the required work within the stipulated time."
