Kohima Officials Push for Better PM Vishwakarma Loan Processing

Kohima: Kohima District Implementation Committee members met June 29 at the Deputy Commissioner's office to evaluate the PM Vishwakarma scheme. Deputy Commissioner B. Henok Buchem chaired the session. They checked the status of credit linkage, skill training, and tool distribution.

Data clashes caused headaches. Loan applications tracked by the district did not match bank records. Buchem pushed for tighter coordination to fix the rift. "The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for better coordination with banks."

Progress continues on other fronts. ITI Kohima finished its initial training and now readies advanced courses for carpenters. India Post handles current toolkit deliveries. Artisans are also seeing success as Amazon orders start rolling in for Kohima products.

The district formed its first artisan cluster. Officials confirmed that this group earned an invite to run training programs in Delhi. The committee now waits for training action plans from the State Council for Technical Education and the State Institute of Rural Development.
