Kohima: New Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries leadership met with local business stakeholders on June 27. The dinner event at Where's The Food Restaurant brought diverse sectors together to talk shop and build unity. KCCI vice president Khriesazo Liezietsu chaired the meeting, while spokesperson Kelhousizo Kire led the opening prayer.
President Ruokuoneilie Kesiezie addressed the crowd. He called for a unified approach to solve industry problems. Kesiezie said, "The importance of collective leadership, stronger stakeholder engagement and a unified approach to address issues affecting the business community" remained the priority.
The group spent hours in an open session. They tackled tough topics like unfair market syndicates and monopolistic behavior. Attendees also pushed for a formal census of the business community to help influence future policy. They want to protect legitimate entrepreneurs and keep consumers happy.
The group finished the night by reviewing plans for the KCCI Golden Jubilee later this year. Everyone left with a promise to keep working toward a cleaner, more transparent business climate in Kohima.
