Kiren Rijiju Says Rahul Gandhi Trapped Himself with Amit Shah Accusations

Shillong: Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju claims Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi walked into a political trap. Gandhi targeted Home Minister Amit Shah over police actions during a July 20 Parliament march. This clash occurred while the Lok Sabha debated the anti-paper leak Bill. Rijiju says Gandhi spread lies.

Rijiju spoke to reporters outside the Parliament House on Wednesday. He criticized Gandhi for failing to discuss the actual anti-paper leak legislation. "He got trapped by taking the name of Home Minister," Rijiju stated. The minister argued that Gandhi ignored the bill entirely.

The Minister explained that police orders fall under the authority of the District Magistrate or Sub-Divisional Magistrate on the scene. Ministers do not issue executive orders regarding force at protests. Rijiju noted that magistrates decide when to fire shots if violence breaks out. He mocked the Leader of Opposition for lacking basic knowledge of these legal boundaries.

Rijiju believes Gandhi is now in a bind because his misleading claims are officially on the record. He expressed sympathy for the Congress leader. He added that the opposition failed to provide any substantive feedback on the bill aimed at stopping unfair practices in exams.
