Imphal: The Kuki History and Identity Protection Committee hit back at state leadership today. They want Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen and every Kuki legislator to hand in their resignations immediately. The group claims these officials have failed to advance the push for a separate administration. Their presence in the government only hurts the community's cause.

Kuki MLAs answer to their voters. They need to stand with them. Since ethnic violence broke out in 2023, the community has faced constant attacks, mass displacement, and death. KHIPC officials are fed up with the political gridlock. They want real movement on their push for a separate state or a Union Territory. Instead, they say the Centre is just stalling.

Information Secretary T. Kamkhosei Haokip blasted the BJP leadership. He claimed the Central government relies on a "divide-and-rule" approach to split the Kuki community while dragging out negotiations. This strategy has gutted public trust. The committee also pointed to the failure of the state to fix living conditions for the displaced or restore basic security in Kuki regions.

The group demands more than just boycotts of Assembly sessions. They want a total exit from the Council of Ministers. If the demand for separate administration sits stagnant before the 2027 elections, the committee expects these politicians to walk. Legislators must now choose between their government seats and the political future of their people.
