Guwahati: Health officials in Kamrup Metropolitan district will launch an immunization drive on June 28 targeting nearly 200,000 children. The program covers kids aged five and younger. The mission aims to ensure complete coverage across the region.

Authorities set up 860 booths to manage the influx. This includes 662 general stations, 25 sites in difficult terrain, 72 institutional booths, and 64 transit points. Mobile teams will also hit the streets to reach children in hard-to-access areas.

The effort requires heavy manpower. The district deployed 51 Medical Officers, 172 supervisors, and 3,222 booth workers to run the operation. The campaign starts at 9:30 am at the Satgaon Urban State Ayushman Arogya Mandir.

The drive lasts three days. Booths operate on June 28, while health workers conduct door-to-door visits on June 29 and 30. The district administration aims "to ensure no eligible child is left out" during this effort to reach all 199,591 targeted children.
