Jemtimenba Mollier Foundation Honors Five Students for Ao Literature Excellence

Kohima: The Jemtimenba Mollier Foundation held its 12th annual Meritorious Award Ceremony on Saturday. The event took place at the Sangtemla Ward Multipurpose Hall in Mokokchung. Five students received recognition for their high marks in Ao literature. These awards covered results from the HSLC and HSSLC examinations, the Arangtet examinations, and college-level coursework.

Guest of honor I Zulu Imsong, chairman of the Chuchuyimpang Village Council, presented the awards. He praised the JMF for keeping the language alive. He noted that nearly 40 per cent of the language links directly to traditional agricultural practices. Imsong told the audience, "While financial assistance could be provided by anyone, the vision behind the foundation was what would leave a lasting legacy." He urged the community to pair classroom lessons with traditional ways of life.

The foundation started in 2014 to boost awareness of Ao literature. It hosts quizzes, essay contests, and spelling bees to reach this goal. Each of the five awardees received a certificate and cash.

Imnokila Mollier won for her 97 marks in the 2026 Ao HSLC exam. Sungjemtula took an award for her 96 marks in the 2026 Ao HSSLC exam. Kilangnukshi earned recognition for scoring 66.3 per cent in the 2026 AT Diploma Tenren exam. Alisenla Ozukum received an award for her 81.1 per cent score in the 2026 AT Post Graduate Diploma Tenren exam. Finally, Temjenmenla Pongen secured an award for scoring 82.5 per cent as the college-level Ao subject topper at FAC in 2026.
