Itanagar: The Indian Army shut down rumors of new Chinese incursions in Arunachal Pradesh. Officials branded reports of fresh People’s Liberation Army camps as factually wrong. Tensions spiked after a local group claimed Beijing forces took over grazing lands near the Taksing circle.

The group submitted a memorandum to the district Deputy Commissioner. They alleged that Chinese forces built roads and bridges in five specific areas, including the Asaphila and Marnafe sectors. They claimed this land grab accelerated over the last fifteen years. The memorandum stated that villagers lost access to traditional hunting and resource sites.

Military leaders held their ground. They issued a firm statement to kill the speculation late Monday. "We have seen some media reports alleging recent encroachment by the Chinese PLA and the setting up of camps in Arunachal Pradesh. These reports are incorrect and without any basis," the Army stated. Officials insist the border remains secure.
