Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh is drafting a roadmap to overhaul its sports programs. Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Kento Jini held a review meeting in Itanagar on Tuesday to set the plan in motion. The strategy demands better coordination between institutions and tighter oversight to track real progress on the ground.
Jini wants an inclusive policy that keeps training accessible to every young athlete in the state. He insists that the government must focus on measurable results to ensure talent finds a path to success. The goal is to build a solid foundation for state, national, and international competition.
The minister highlighted the state's recent growth in the Northeast sports scene. He intends to keep that momentum alive. During the meeting, Jini stated, "These forward-looking initiatives are envisioned to harness the immense potential of our youth, nurture their talents, and equip them with the confidence, discipline, and capabilities required to excel at the state, national and international levels."
Resources must go to the right places. Officials are working to ensure that funding supports local athletes rather than disappearing into administrative bloat. Jini says the state needs a system where youth can reach their goals while helping the state prosper.
