Itanagar: The Indian Army shut down reports of Chinese troops moving into Arunachal Pradesh. Officials dismissed the claims as nonsense. The Army stated, "We have seen some media reports alleging recent encroachment by Chinese PLA and setting up of camps in Arunachal Pradesh. These reports are incorrect and without any basis."

Trouble started when the Nah Welfare Society sent a note to the local Deputy Commissioner on June 26. The group claimed Chinese forces occupied land near Taksing over the last 15 years. They allege the Chinese military built roads, bridges, and camps on land locals use for grazing and hunting.

The society specifically named five locations including Oying, Paniar, and Potrang Lake as sites now under Chinese control. They pushed for state and federal action to stop the land grab. Despite these claims, the Army stands by its position. There is no new territory lost.
