Itanagar: The Indian Air Force stepped up relief efforts in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday. A helicopter flew NDRF teams and 350 kilograms of gear into the flood-ravaged Pitapool area. The cargo included a rescue boat to help reach isolated residents. Flash floods hit the Keyi Panyor district earlier this week, leaving four people still missing.

Search operations entered the second day near the Poosa settlement. The disaster started when heavy rains caused a colony to flood. Five people were initially reported missing. On Wednesday, rescue teams found the body of 35-year-old teacher Nirmala Gupta. The four remaining missing individuals include 13-year-old Elesh Marak, 30-year-old Balari Marak, 46-year-old Tao Anjina, and 48-year-old Sourav Kumar.

The floods damaged 20 homes. A retaining wall collapsed during the downpour. Twenty people were injured, with three patients currently in critical condition at local hospitals. Governor Lt Gen K.T. Parnaik urged officials to remain alert, stating he called for "heightened vigilance during the ongoing monsoon season" and directed departments to prepare for more trouble.

NEEPCO suspended power generation at the Ranganadi Dam. They are releasing water to manage rising reservoir levels. Downstream, the Assam government issued a high alert for Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Biswanath, and Sonitpur. Officials expect the water to reach western districts within two days. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju promised government support for restoration efforts as teams continue to navigate the difficult terrain.
