Itanagar: The Meteorological Centre in Itanagar has forecasted widespread rainfall and thunderstorms across various districts of Arunachal Pradesh starting this Friday. The wet conditions are expected to persist for several days, prompting the weather office to maintain a heightened state of alert across the region.

Fairly widespread rain is anticipated in Upper Subansiri, Kra Daadi, West Siang, Lower Siang, Leparada, Kamle, and Papum Pare districts. Meanwhile, other areas including Tawang, Shi-Yomi, East Siang, and several eastern districts are likely to experience scattered thundershowers. The office noted that "isolated heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning is also likely in some areas."

Authorities have issued special alerts for Kurung Kumey, Lower Subansiri, Papum Pare, and Leparada, while Kra Daadi faces a more intense warning level. Most other regions remain under a general watch category as the state prepares for sustained precipitation. The five-day forecast indicates that these weather patterns will continue through the weekend and into Monday, with the heaviest rainfall concentrated in central and western parts of the state.
