Agartala: Himalayan Parivar Tripura Pradesh has established a new visitor assistance centre in Agartala to support residents planning to attend the 30th Sindhu Darshan Yatra and the inaugural Sindhu Mahakumbh. The centre aims to offer logistical guidance and travel information to pilgrims preparing for the journey to Leh-Ladakh.
Tripura Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Paul, serving as the chief patron of the organisation, announced the initiative at a press conference on Tuesday. He noted that the organisation is prioritizing increased participation from Tripura this year, specifically targeting the state's media community.
To boost local involvement, the organization has introduced a subsidized travel package for journalists. This initiative covers costs including transportation from Kurukshetra to Leh-Ladakh, lodging, and meals during the 17-day excursion. Participants are permitted to bring their spouses under this support program.
Paul stated, "The newly launched assistance centre will not only cater to journalists but will also help members of the public interested in joining the pilgrimage." Beyond assisting reporters, the centre provides registration support and travel planning for any interested individuals.
The pilgrimage is set to begin in Kurukshetra on June 18. Organisers expect visitors from across the country to participate and hope the new support system will strengthen awareness of the event's cultural and spiritual importance within Tripura.
