Guwahati: Guwahati police are locking down 15 exam centers. They expect 13,500 candidates to show up for the APSC Combined Competitive Examination on July 5. The move aims to keep the process clean. Authorities issued a prohibitory order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita to stop interference.

Nobody gets within 100 metres of the buildings. The ban covers everyone except exam staff, police on duty, and students with valid admit cards. Deputy Commissioner of Police Nirupam Hazarika stated the restriction has been imposed to "ensure a free, fair and transparent recruitment process and to prevent any law and order issues during the examination."

Previous tests saw outsiders trying to mess with the results. Police are worried about the misuse of mobile apps. They want to stop cheaters before they start. Anyone breaking these rules faces punishment under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The streets around the centers will be quiet.
