Guwahati Judge’s Court Bar Association Elects New Leadership

Guwahati: The Judge’s Court Bar Association of Guwahati has formed a new 17-member executive committee for the upcoming term during a general meeting on June 12. During the session, members unanimously re-elected Advocate Ajanta Talukdar to serve as president for a second consecutive term.

The newly elected leadership team includes Dhrubajyoti Das and Mousumi Dutta as vice presidents. Advocate Gyanajit Sarma secured the position of general secretary for the first time, and Dipak Baruah was appointed as the cultural secretary.

Following the election, Talukdar outlined several initiatives aimed at improving legal literacy across Assam. These plans include hosting a state-level debate competition for law students and launching educational outreach programs at schools and universities. Regarding the association's mission to improve public access to the legal system, Talukdar stated, "The doors of justice should remain open to all sections of society."

Talukdar expressed his intention to collaborate with the Government of Assam and the local community to strengthen the reach of these legal awareness efforts. The association remains focused on its commitment to public service and fostering a more progressive society through law.
