Guwahati: Security staff at Guwahati’s Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport tracked down a traveler after he left a bag worth 10.14 lakh rupees behind. Central Industrial Security Force officers spotted the unattended item sitting at the Automated Tray Retrieval System in Terminal 1 on June 26. They moved fast. They secured the bag and sent it to the Lost and Found department.

The bag held 10,720 US dollars, 175 Chinese yuan, medicine, and personal items. Airport workers checked the medicine strips and the bag tags for a name. CCTV footage confirmed the owner had already boarded a flight to Hyderabad. Officials coordinated with the Hyderabad airport crew to verify the man’s identity. The airport confirmed the recovery, stating the incident "highlights the alertness and coordination among various teams in ensuring passenger safety and support." An authorized representative eventually collected the cash and belongings.
