Grenade fails to detonate at Assam-Nagaland railway site

Guwahati: A grenade failed to explode after someone threw it at a railway construction site on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred at Rongaphar Siding in the Dhansiri area of Karbi Anglong district, near the Assam-Nagaland border.

No one got hurt. The equipment remained untouched. It was a close call for the work crew.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after receiving reports of the attack. Officers are now scrubbing the site for clues to track down the people responsible. Officials confirmed the outcome on Tuesday, stating, "The unexploded device caused neither injuries to workers nor any damage to the ongoing railway project."

Security agencies are looking into the event. They have not pinned down a motive for the attack yet. The investigation remains ongoing.
