Gaurav Gogoi Slams Government Over Assam Flood Relief

Guwahati: Gaurav Gogoi attacked the BJP-led state and central governments on July 26. He spoke at a Congress workers conference held at the Morigaon Bihutoli. The event served as a rally for the upcoming Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election. It drew party functionaries and district office-bearers from across the region.

Gogoi claims officials ignored the needs of flood-ravaged citizens. He argued that the state government must secure financial aid from the Centre for relief and rehabilitation. The administration failed to act despite the gravity of the crisis. He stated, "It is the responsibility of the state government to secure adequate financial assistance from the Centre for flood relief and rehabilitation."

Political gains should not come before the safety of the public. Gogoi demanded better support and comprehensive help for families displaced by high water. He told local members to engage with voters and boost the party base. The session focused on strategy for the next ballot.
