Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi Makes Meals for Assam Flood Victims

Guwahati: Jorhat MP Gaurav Gogoi swapped his suit for a kitchen apron on July 22. He spent his day rolling dough and cooking rotis for flood victims at the Amguri Tea Estate in the Nazira constituency. Heavy rains triggered floods across Upper Assam, forcing hundreds of families into district-run relief camps.

Gogoi toured the camp to hear grievances and share the labor of feeding those forced from their homes. He posted photos of the work on social media to highlight the plight of the displaced. The politician praised the local spirit during the catastrophe. "I interacted with the flood-affected people at the temporary relief camp in Amguri Tea Estate under the Nazira constituency and spent some time with them. Even in these difficult times, their courage, unity and warmth inspired me," Gogoi stated.

The legislator emphasized the need for active support. He insisted that leadership requires showing up when things go wrong. "It is our duty to stand beside them during this difficult period. We remain committed to providing every possible help and assistance," he added. Other political leaders continue to visit the region to survey damage and coordinate aid as the water persists.
