Gaurav Gogoi Demands Modi Apology After Dharmendra Pradhan Resigns

Guwahati: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi slammed the central government on July 25 during a meeting at the Nagaon Rajiv Bhawan. He stood with senior party officials to call out the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The Jorhat lawmaker claimed the Prime Minister’s double-engine government finally surrendered to student pressure. The protest movement forced their hand.

Gogoi demanded an immediate apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He cited police high-handedness and alleged atrocities against students who took to the streets. The event brought together the APCC and the Nagaon District Congress Committee to strategize their next moves. Gogoi stated that the Prime Minister’s government was "ultimately forced to concede defeat before the persistent protests of students."

Party leaders promised to ramp up public outreach across the state. They intend to back student rights through further local action. The party remains locked in its opposition to current administrative policies.
