Guwahati: The Gauhati High Court pushed the Zubeen Garg murder case forward on Thursday. Judges set August 13 as the next hearing date for a petition filed by Shyamkanu Mahanta. The court made this decision after reviewing submissions from all involved parties.
Multiple legal challenges remain active. Siddhartha Sharma has three separate petitions pending before the court. These requests ask for the de-freezing of bank accounts seized during the investigation, access to a specific investigation report from Singapore, and resolution of general legal procedural issues. Additionally, the court will hear a petition from Mahabir Aqua.
Legal maneuvering continues elsewhere in the judicial system. Bail applications for two bodyguards implicated in the case faced a delay. The court of Mitali Thakuria will handle these bail matters during the next scheduled session. As the proceedings move forward, the court noted that "multiple petitions concerning the investigation and related legal issues" currently remain pending.
