Guwahati: Siddharth Sharma remains behind bars. The Gauhati High Court denied his bail request for the second time, keeping him in judicial custody. Justice Mitali Thakuria handed down the ruling after reviewing case records and hearing arguments from both sides.

This marks the second time a court has blocked his release. A Fast Track Court previously rejected his initial application. The accused has been locked up since his October 1, 2025, arrest. The case involves the death of singer Zubeen Garg, which took place on September 19, 2025.

Justice Thakuria made the call after weighing the total circumstances of the case. Officials say the court "turned down the latest bail plea after taking into account the case records, submissions made before the court, and the overall circumstances of the matter." Sharma stays in custody while the legal process grinds forward.
