Fire Breaks Out at Ministry of Education Office in Delhi

Shillong: A large fire erupted on the second floor of the Ministry of Education office, situated on the School of Planning and Architecture campus in Delhi's ITO area, on Monday morning. The Delhi Fire Services received an alert about the blaze at 9:37 a.m. and immediately sent eight fire tenders to the scene to manage the situation.

Building occupants were evacuated safely as soon as the fire began. While firefighting operations are currently ongoing, officials have not yet identified the cause of the incident. Investigations into the source of the blaze are underway.

Separately, fire crews responded to a major house fire in the Indira Vihar area of North-West Delhi late Sunday night. The fire, which started around 10:30 p.m., quickly spread through the three-story building. Residents suggested that a recently repaired air conditioning unit may have malfunctioned, prompting police to investigate a potential AC blast. No injuries were reported during that incident.
