FGN Khiamniungan Region disputes Saramati boundary claims

Kohima: The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) Khiamniungan Region has issued a formal clarification regarding an NSCN K (Ang Mai) camp allegedly established in the Saramati region. In a statement, secretary Heno Lushing and midan peyu M. Thangou argued that the territory in question does not fall under the jurisdiction of Saramati.

According to the officials, the area near Saramati is recognized by the Khiamniungan people as the Thingniu range, which is officially designated as the Tingniu Sub Region. The leadership warned that any incursions into their territory based on the May 18, 2026, directive will not be tolerated.
