Kohima: A team from the Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, India, toured rural and urban charges in Chiephobozou on July 16. The inspection aimed to monitor the ongoing first phase of the 2027 Census. Dr. Manoj Jain, a Joint Director from New Delhi, led the delegation alongside Statistical Investigator Chankit Kumar.
The officials verified newly enumerated houses and spoke with heads of households to confirm data accuracy. They provided direct guidance to enumerators and supervisors regarding the technical demands of the house listing operation. The team worked throughout the day to cover Nerhe Phezha, Botsa, Chiephobozou urban ward 5, and Touphema village.
Local census staff joined the delegation for the field visits. This included ADC and Sub-divisional Census Officer Vekusheyi Rhakho, Senior Executive Dr. Kekrietshunuo Kire, and Statistical Investigator KH Athisu Chachei. Field trainers and DIET lecturers Alemsongla Jamir and M. Ruthla Sangtam also participated in the review.
During a meeting at the ADC office, Dr. Jain explained the objective of the mission. He stated, "the purpose of the visit was to observe and inspect the ongoing 1st phase of Census-2027."
