Federal Government of Nagaland Impeaches Official Over Misconduct

Kohima: The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has officially impeached Kitoho Zhimomi, stripping him of all positions and affiliations. The decision followed a joint meeting held in Dimapur on June 5, which included representatives from the Council of Kilonsers, Tatars Hoho, and the FGN's military leadership.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Information and Publicity, the removal stems from allegations of financial misconduct, a lack of transparency, and efforts to divide the organization. The group claimed that Zhimomi joined seven different Naga Political Groups over an eighteen-month period. During this time, he allegedly collected taxes using various political identities for his own personal gain.

The FGN stated that Zhimomi is no longer authorized to act on its behalf or participate in political dialogues. The organization emphasized that he cannot represent their interests in any capacity, including discussions held under the Forum for Naga Reconciliation. The ministry release concluded that "Kitoho Zhimomi is no longer recognised as an active member or representative of the FGN."
