Guwahati: A fatal collision on the Maharaj Prithu Flyover in Guwahati claimed one life late Monday night. Parimal Medhi, a Noonmati resident, died at the scene after his motorcycle slammed into a scooter. Rain slicked the pavement during the wreck.

The impact was brutal. Local residents say the flyover turns into a death trap whenever it rains. Slippery surfaces have caused similar crashes on this stretch in the past. People living nearby now demand better road maintenance and safety upgrades to prevent further tragedies.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident. Authorities are currently gathering facts, and one official noted, "The accident occurred on the flyover on Monday night when the two vehicles collided under wet road conditions."

The crash reignites a long-standing debate over infrastructure safety. Drivers remain wary of the route until officials take action.
