Family Demands Action as Assam Woman Vanishes in Bengaluru

Guwahati: Sumi Das vanished from Bengaluru on June 26. The 22-year-old from Assam has been missing for a full week. She moved to the city six months ago for work. Her goal was simple. She wanted to help her struggling family back home in the Tamulpur district.

Das lived in a rented space with three coworkers. These women alerted the family after she disappeared. The father, who originally saw his daughter head to Tamil Nadu for work a year ago, is desperate for answers. Her parents filed a missing person report at the Kumarikata Police Station after the news reached them.

Local police have opened an investigation. They notified higher authorities to help track her down. The family is currently waiting for any shred of evidence regarding her location. Her parents have officially asked for government intervention to locate their daughter. "Her parents have appealed to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to help trace their daughter and ensure her safe return home."
