Shillong: Kunal Kemmu tapped Preity Zinta to play an undercover government agent in his new action-comedy, VIBE. Kemmu wrote the film with Zinta in mind, aiming to catch the audience off guard with the casting. He confirmed Zinta plays a character named Marimatch. Amazon MGM Studios released the trailer for the film, which hits theaters on September 18. Drongo Films produced the project alongside Amazon MGM Studios. The cast includes Sparsh Shrivastava and debutant Vanshika Dhir.
Director Danny Boyle confirmed his new film Ink uses generative AI. The technology appears for 30 seconds to animate historical photos and mice in a 1970s newsroom. Boyle spoke at the Telluride Film Festival about the project. Ink focuses on the rise of British tabloid The Sun. It features Jack O’Connell, Guy Pearce, and Claire Foy. The film hits cinemas in December and Netflix in January. Boyle warned that AI could replace journalists but insisted it must be used responsibly. He stated, “AI as a useful filmmaking tool but stressed that it should be used responsibly.”
