Guwahati: Assamese film Tibro hits theaters on December 4. It brings together new talent and established industry veterans. Writer-director Abrar started this ambitious project at age 19. It represents a dream fulfilled for the late producer Neeta Sharma.
The film stars debutant Zulfi Sheikh from Dhubri district alongside Preety KKongana. Zulfi previously represented India at Mr. Tourism World 2018 in Rome and won the Ro-Ba-Ro title in Goa. The production also features a song by the late Zubeen Garg. Renowned Bollywood choreographer Sandeep Soparrkar directed the dance sequences.
Producer Suresh Sharma pledged at least Rs 21 lakh or 20 percent of profits to help flood-hit families in Sivasagar and Charaideo. The team already visited these areas to distribute supplies. Dream House Productionz (India) Pvt. Ltd. is also funding a rehabilitation program. They will offer free training in film and music at the Dream House Music and Film Academy to 51 students from the affected districts. Reputed NGOs will nominate the beneficiaries.
PR strategist Subhankar Banerjee described the movie as having "many shades" and expressed hope for a warm reception from local viewers. The release carries significant emotional weight for the cast and crew.
