Aizawl: Election Commission of India Secretary Binod Kumar held a review meeting in Aizawl today to evaluate the district's readiness for the upcoming Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The session, held at DC Pisa Pui Hall, included key election personnel such as the District Election Officer, Electoral Registration Officers, and Booth Level Officers.

Kumar highlighted that the nationwide exercise aims to ensure electoral rolls are both accurate and clean. He instructed officials to conduct their duties with transparency and diligence, specifically ordering the distribution of enumeration forms to be completed within five days. The meeting also served as a platform for staff to address operational challenges and clarify procedural doubts.

Aizawl District Election Officer Er. Lalhriatpuia provided a project update, noting that the district currently serves 2,92,635 registered voters across 12 assembly constituencies. Officials plan to expand the network of polling stations from 324 to 359 following a rationalization process. Data shows that 74.71 percent of electors have already been mapped, and authorities have prepared 5,85,270 enumeration forms for the revision.

Following the formal discussions, Kumar and Section Officer Vijay Gupta visited a polling station at the Government Middle School in Zemabawk West to inspect field operations.
