Shillong: Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui handed out certificates to students finishing the SPARK Meghalaya programme on Saturday. The ceremony took place at Nongtalang Government Higher Secondary School. Attendees included the West Jaintia Hills District School Education Officer, the Assistant Commissioner, and the CEO of Avenues.
STEM remains the focus. Rymbui pushed students to pick up creativity and problem-solving skills for their future careers. He told the crowd that the SPARK initiative is turning classrooms into hubs for exploration and practical application. The government wants to boost digital literacy and experiential learning to fix the quality of schooling throughout Meghalaya. "The government is committed to digital literacy and experiential education to improve the quality of schooling across Meghalaya," Rymbui said.
Students took the stage. They showed off projects using innovative models to explain how their new STEM training helps them in their daily lives.
