Itanagar: East Siang Police arrested a woman and confiscated approximately 1.3 kilograms of suspected ganja during a raid in Oyan village. The operation took place under the ongoing Operation Dawn 2.0 initiative, following reports regarding the illegal sale of narcotics in the area.

Authorities acted on information received on May 29, leading to a coordinated effort overseen by ADS Ayup Boko. A police team led by SI Yike Lomri conducted the search at the residence of Totong Pegu in the presence of Executive Magistrate Dubom Apang. Officers recovered the contraband along with packaging materials from the possession of Opera Pegu.

The police department documented, weighed, and sealed the seized substance according to standard legal protocols. To ensure transparency, officials recorded the entire search on video. The suspect remains in custody, and authorities have registered a case under the NDPS Act at the Sille-Oyan Police Station.

Superintendent of Police Pankaj Lamba praised the team for their work and reaffirmed the district police department's zero-tolerance stance toward drug offenses. He also urged local residents to support these efforts by reporting suspicious activities to help maintain a drug-free community.
