Shillong: East Khasi Hills police are locking down streets for the Durand Cup kickoff this Friday. The Shillong Lajong FC and Nongkseh S&SCC match takes place at JN Stadium. Regulations start at 1 pm to clear paths for fans and keep roads moving.
Drivers cannot head from Lumjingshai Junction toward CRPF Junction or Forest Colony. Police will force those vehicles to divert toward FCI Junction. Do not expect to park near the stadium. Officials released a strict list of banned parking zones, including the stretches from Pinewood Junction to the BJP office and Polo to 4th Furlong. The list also covers Polo to Lawmali Junction and the CRPF Junction at Polo.
Spectators must use designated spots for their vehicles. Available parking includes the SRGT lot, the Red Field Ground near the MPRO Quarter at Golf Links, and the State Central Library premises. You can also park behind Raj Bhawan or the stretch from Shillong Commerce College to BK Bajoria School. Additional one-side parking exists from FCI Junction to Lumjingshai and several sectors around Golf Links and the CM Office area. The department stated these measures will "facilitate smooth movement of traffic and ensure public safety."
