Guwahati: Dream House Production (India) Pvt. Ltd. is funneling cash into Assam to fight the fallout from recent floods. The production company committed a minimum of Rs 21 lakh to help families living in the Sivasagar and Charaideo districts. This donation stands regardless of how their upcoming Assamese feature film, Tibro, performs at the box office.
The company also plans to donate 20 percent of the film's net profits to relief efforts. Beyond the money, the Tibro team will travel to these districts to distribute supplies and work on the ground. Suresh Sharma, the producer and director of the company, is managing these efforts to honor his late wife and company founder, Neeta Sharma. She was a philanthropist from Simaluguri who also started the empowerment group Wommanias.
Suresh Sharma explained the mission behind the company's dual approach to relief and development. "My wife, Neeta Sharma, believed that success becomes truly meaningful only when it uplifts others," he said. The company intends to blend immediate aid with long-term goals.
The Dream House Music and Film Academy will provide free professional training to 51 students from the flood-hit regions. These pupils will learn filmmaking, music, and production through mentorship programs. The firm will partner with local NGOs to select the beneficiaries, aiming to help these young people launch careers in the creative industry.
