Guwahati: Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa met with former Dimasa National Liberation Army leaders on Monday. The group gathered at the Haflong conference hall to track the 2023 peace deal. They want results. The meeting focused on the tripartite Memorandum of Settlement signed between the rebels, the Centre, and the Assam government last October.

The DNLA gave up the fight after 181 cadres turned in their weapons to rejoin society. Gorlosa pressed officials to meet the specific commitments outlined in the agreement. He claims steady progress keeps the region stable. Officials including DHAC Chairman Mohet Hojai and several executive members joined the session to iron out ongoing issues.

Gorlosa expects the council to stay focused on the future. He stated, "We remain committed to working collectively with all stakeholders to fulfil the aspirations of the people and strengthen the path towards a peaceful and prosperous future." The council leadership plans to keep this momentum going to ensure the peace deal delivers for the local population.
