Guwahati: Dhubri Medical College and Hospital just cleared a major hurdle. The National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers officially granted the facility its stamp of approval. This recognition confirms the hospital meets national benchmarks for patient safety, clinical practices, and infection control. It is a win for the Lower Assam region.

Assam Cabinet Minister Ashok Singhal broke the news on social media. The accreditation follows a deep audit of the hospital's medication management and operational systems. The state-run institution spent months tightening its standards to reach this goal.

Dr. Ankumani Saikia, the principal of the medical college, praised the team behind the success. "The recognition reflects continued efforts to improve patient-centric healthcare services and acknowledged the contribution of healthcare personnel and administrative support in achieving the milestone," Saikia said.

Hospital Superintendent Gunajit Das expects this status to boost public trust in the facility. Residents in the area now have better access to quality care without the need to seek help at distant referral hospitals. The college will continue to operate under these strict quality monitoring frameworks to serve western Assam.
