Guwahati: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee named former Member of Parliament Abdul Khaleque as advisor to its media department. The appointment starts now. APCC president Gaurav Gogoi signed off on the move to sharpen the party's communication strategy.

General Secretary Ramanna Baruah released the office order this Saturday. Khaleque will work closely with the media department chairman and report directly to Gogoi. The party aims to boost its outreach ahead of looming political campaigns.

Official documents confirming the role reached senior leaders like K.C. Venugopal and Jitendra Singh. The party stated the "appointment forms part of the party's organisational responsibilities and will take immediate effect." Khaleque brings years of political experience to the role as the Congress prepares for upcoming fights in the state.
