COCOMI Blasts Government Response to Manipur Conflict

Imphal: The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has condemned the state and central governments for their inability to manage the ongoing crisis in Manipur. During a public meeting at Huidrom Community Hall in Imphal East, COCOMI Co-Convenor Yumkhaibam Surjitkumar Khuman argued that officials have failed to address critical security and humanitarian challenges.

Khuman contrasted the government's response to this conflict with its firm stance against terrorism in other regions. He questioned why armed groups remain unchecked in Manipur after more than three years of instability. The representative noted that many areas previously occupied by Meiteis are still inaccessible, while looted weapons continue to fuel recurring cycles of violence.

Beyond security failures, the committee raised concerns regarding the inadequate support provided to displaced families. Khuman described the state government as ineffective and called for concrete action to ensure lasting peace, security, and justice for all residents affected by the unrest.
