Clash Between Congress and BJP Workers Forces Cancellation of Assam Meeting

Guwahati: A scheduled review meeting for Samaguri MLA Tanzil Hussain was cancelled on Saturday following a violent clash between Congress and BJP supporters in Assam's Nagaon district. The incident occurred outside the Garajan Development Block office as party members gathered ahead of the event.

Tensions flared when former Congress leader Nurul Amin Choudhury arrived at the location. BJP workers reportedly took offense to comments previously made by Choudhury, sparking a heated confrontation between the two political groups.

Local authorities were forced to scrap the MLA's meeting due to the escalating unrest. Police from the Rupahihat station arrived shortly after to disperse the crowd and restore order to the area. Officials confirmed that no injuries occurred during the altercation and no arrests have been made at this stage.
