Guwahati: Security officers nabbed two Bangladeshi nationals at Guwahati airport on July 1. The pair, Rana Molla and Mafuja Akhtar Lima, tried to board a flight to Mumbai. They never made it to the gate.
CISF personnel intercepted the duo during routine checks at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport. A search revealed the suspects carried forged Indian Aadhaar cards and other questionable documents. Guards turned the pair over to Azara Police immediately.
Officials are working to track how the two got the fake IDs. They suspect a wider smuggling operation. Investigators want to know if the pair belongs to a larger network involved in illegal cross-border movement. According to officials, the duo was intercepted by CISF personnel during security checks just before boarding the Guwahati-Mumbai flight.
This marks the second arrest of a Bangladeshi national at the same terminal in just a few days. Police keep digging for answers. They have yet to determine the full extent of the operation behind these forged documents.
