Kohima: Election officials gathered Nodal Officers, Campus Ambassadors, and institutional representatives in Chümoukedima on August 27, 2026. The training session took place at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall. Kevethito Rose, the EAC and Officer in Charge of Election, opened the event with a breakdown of the state election machinery.
Rose framed the club members as active participants in the civic process. He told the room that ELC members are “agents of change in society.” The session prioritized the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Rose tasked the group with managing the enumeration phase to ensure that “no eligible voter is left behind, and no ineligible voter is included.”
Meyietele, an Assistant Programmer for the Election Branch, walked the attendees through the specific revision schedule and enumeration protocols. He instructed the representatives to push accurate information out to students and local community members. The floor opened for questions following the briefing. Officials took time to clarify concerns regarding the revision process and specific outreach tactics.
Rose closed the event by thanking the participants for their attendance. He pushed the ambassadors to keep spreading the word within their home institutions. The meeting aimed to sharpen the focus on responsible and active voter participation across the district.
