Guwahati: Cachar Police intercepted a massive shipment of suspected Yaba tablets in Silchar. Officers seized 29,200 pills worth roughly Rs 2.9 crore. They took one suspect into custody during the raid. The operation hit the local trafficking network hard.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the bust on social media. He called the seizure "another major blow to the drug network" while promising the state will keep hunting dealers. The Chief Minister also noted that the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign shows no signs of slowing down.

"Our crackdown against drugs continues unabated," Sarma stated. The police force is now tracking the source and final destination of the synthetic stimulants. Investigators believe the pills moved through complex interstate and international trafficking channels. This bust is just the latest move in a long-term plan to scrub narcotics from the streets of Assam.
